Okeechobee – Anto-nio-Jose Garcia Navarrete died September 8, 2023. He was born June 18, 2008 in Sebring, Florida. He was known as A.J.
A lifetime resident of Okeechobee, he was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Antonio volunteered with Our Village and other community events. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, time outdoors, riding ATVs, and animals. He was a Sophomore at Okeechobee High School, taking honors classes and in automotive class. A.J. loved competing academically with his older sister. He was the Jack
of All Trades, building with dad and friends, welding, and he enjoyed learning something new every day. He owned his own lawn company, AGN Landscaping.
Antonio-Jose was preceded in death by his sister, Anatalia Garcia Navarrete; maternal grand-father, Moises Matehuala Garcia; maternal great grandparents, Simon and Mary Garcia; paternal great grandparents, Fidel and Maria Navarrete and Antonio and Carmen Garcia; uncle, Billy Jimmie Osceola; and aunt, Neka Lynn Garcia.
He is survived by his parents, Antonio G. Navarrete and Alexandra Garcia Navarrete; brother, Alexzander Garcia Navarrete; sister, Alizabeth Garcia Navarrete; maternal grandparents, Helen Aldama Garcia and Jose Aguirre Bedolla; paternal grandparents, Hilda G. Navarrete and Jose M. Navarrete; maternal aunts and uncles, Aurelio Galvan (Trish) , Cassandra Terrazas, Martha Galvan, Moses Garcia (Jennifer), Angelica Medrano (Esau), Esmeralda Tijerina, Oracio Aguirre, and Julio Aguirre; paternal aunts and uncles, Jose Navarrete (Maria), Hilda Quito (William), Sandra Varillas (Paul), and Santiago Navarrete (Yesenia); and a host of cousins and extended family members.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. until family service at 7
p.m. Friday, September 15, 2023 at Buxton & Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be 9
a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Sacred
Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
