INDIANTOWN -- A Hobe Sound man was killed in a traffic accident on State Road 76, five miles west of State Road 710 on Feb. 16 at 6:05 a.m.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol Report, a sports utility vehicle (SUV) was traveling westbound on State Road 76 (SW Kanner Hwy) west of SW Warfield Boulevard. A tractor trailer was traveling eastbound on SW Kanner Hwy west of SW Warfield Boulevard. For reasons yet to be determined, the SUV traveled intothe tractor-trailer's lane of travel.
As a result, the front of the SUV collided with the front of tractor-trailer. Post-collision, the SUV became fully engulfed in fire.
The SUV driver, a 52-year-old Hobe Sound man, was pronounced deceased on scene.
The tractor-trailer driver, a 44-year-old Pahokee man, received minor injuries, according to the FHP report.
This investigation continues.
