OKEECHOBEE — An Okeechobee man found himself the victim of a con artist after building a relationship with a woman on the web.
According to the information released by the Okeechobee Sheriff’s Department, a man came into the sheriff’s office to report harassment. The man told deputies he met a woman, calling herself Milenie Dominguez from Columbia, on WhatsApp. He said he had multiple video calls with her, some of them sexual in nature. The woman reportedly recorded the conversations and replaced her face with the face of a child. She then sent threats stating if he does not send her money, she will report him to law enforcement. He told the deputy he had never had sexual conversations with a juvenile and did not send the woman money
Despite fear that he could get in trouble, the man went to the sheriff's office for help..
The report notes there is no way to find the woman or to prove she sent the messages harassing the man.
The case is considered closed.
