Double gold star family donates toys

Posted

OKEECHOBEE — Monday evening, Dec. 18,  our friends Miss Knightly, Momma Stephanie, and their little ones Brooke and Dale donated all the toys you see in the boxes behind us. The family you see here does this every year.

You see, they are a double #goldstarfamily.

They do so in memory of two very heroic men.

Two twin brothers, Chris Goski and Mike Goski, both served in the US military and had multiple combat tours. Chris served in the US Marine Corps as part of the Marine Special Operations Command (MARSOC) and completed 7 tours of duty, fighting in the War on Terror until the very end. Mike served in the US Army's 82nd Airborne Division, completing 6 combat tours. Sadly, Chris passed away before Mike in the line of duty, and four years later, Mike passed away from a broken heart.

One of the twins, Chris, was Knightly's father and Steph's husband at the time he gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Thanks to the kindness, thoughtfulness, and generosity of this family, who have sacrificed so much, children from all over Okeechobee County will receive a little extra from our Uniformed Patrol Officers in the coming days. It is their memories that make this possible."

Please join us in thanking and wishing these amazing individuals a very Merry Christmas, filled with joy and safety.
OCSO, veteran
