Drug deal is witnessed by detectives

OKEECHOBEE — Two men were arrested after a drug deal was witnessed by detectives. Thursday afternoon, March 18, two detectives were parked in an unmarked patrol vehicle on Northeast 14th Avenue in Douglas Park.

According to their report, they witnessed a 2000 Ford truck enter the area, and saw the driver meet with another man and exchange money. Both detectives claim they saw a piece of crack cocaine passed from one man to the other. The detectives approached the two men, and one of them, identified as Jesse James King, turned and began to walk away. As he walked, he threw a glass crack pipe and his hat. One of the detectives retrieved the pipe and apprehended King. The second detective said he saw the other man, identified as Robert Frier, drop the crack cocaine out of the window of his vehicle. The cocaine was collected, and Frier was arrested.

Frier was charged with possession of cocaine and tampering with evidence. King was charged with sale of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession with intent to sell. Frier’s bond was set at $11,000. King’s bond was set at $81,000.
