Firefighters visit Okeechobee Christian Academy

OKEECHOBEE — Okeechobee Christian Academy's first and second graders enjoyed a visit with Okeechobee County firefighters on Tuesday, Oct. 5.

Engine 1 stopped by campus to teach the students about fire safety. They learned to “Get Low and Go” when they hear a fire alarm go off. To “Go Out and Stay Out” if the alarm goes off. Have a Safe Meeting Spot to gather at, and to Stop, Drop, Cover their face, and Roll if their clothes catch on fire.  According to the children, Ben was the toughest firefighter there because he did pushups in full gear.
