Gary, 78, of Lake Placid, Florida, died June 30, 2023 in Sebring, Florida at Good Shepherd Hospice. He was born in Miami, Florida to William Rompot and Ona McBroom. He lived in Hialeah, Florida until after he proudly served our country in the United States Coast Guard from 1964 - 1968. He then moved to Okeechobee, Florida where he lived until he relocated to Lake Placid, Florida five years ago.
Mr. Rompot was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Thomas Rompot.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Sharon Rompot, of Lake Placid, Florida; son, Ronald E. Rompot (Jodie), of Sebastian, Florida; daughter, Stacy Lynn Crum (Daryl), of Lake Port, Florida; stepsons, Jeffery Striebel (Rita) and Gregory Striebel (Dhana), all of Okeechobee, Florida; stepdaughter, Lynette Jean Striebel (OJ), of Watertown, New York; sister Loretta Dorr of Boca Raton, Florida; many grandchildren including Micheal Smith (Ariel) whom he raised, step grandchildren, great grandchildren, and step great grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
