OKEECHOBEE — On July 25,  Okeechobee Girl Scout Troop 60300 visited Jupiter inlet beach to earn their Water Safety Patch.

Lieutenant William Demarino, from Okeechobee, gave lessons on rip currents, the Beach Flag System,  jellyfish, the importance of swimming near a lifeguard and much more.

Lieutenant William Demarino has been with Palm Beach Ocean Rescue for over 34 years. He has numerous water safety certifications.

The Troop also did a waterway clean up, collected buckets of trash and learned how their efforts will help improve the life of sea turtles and other ocean creatures.

Troop 60300 is living the Girl Scout Promise and Law!
