Glades Day features Sydney Stroud as the Senior Spotlight

BELLE GLADE — This is Sydney Stroud’s fifth year at Glades Day School (GDS). She is the daughter of Robert and Katie Stroud. Sydney has been involved in the National Junior Honor Society, the National Honor Society, varsity soccer, varsity cheerleading, and track and field. Each year that Sydney has attended Glades Day School, she has been a member of Student Government and Student Council. She was also on the 2020 GDS Homecoming Court.

In her Senior Spotlight interview, Sydney shared that one of her favorite achievements at GDS is starting a book club for lower school students. She said that this was a wonderful opportunity to promote the lower school students to become passionate about reading.

After graduation, Sydney plans to attend college, majoring in biological sciences with a minor in psychology. She has been accepted to Florida Atlantic University, University of South Florida, University of North Florida, Louisiana State University, Florida Gulf Coast University, University of West Florida, University of Central Florida, New College of Florida, and Ave Maria. Sydney also plans to attend medical school as she follows her father’s footsteps of becoming an anesthesiologist.
