Glades Education Foundation continues the Imagination Library Project

Posted

MOORE HAVEN — The Glades Education Foundation, based in Moore Haven, is pleased to announce the continuation of the Imagination Library Project for Glades County children. The Imagination Library provides free monthly books for children ages 5 or under, delivered right to their home address. Parents who are interested in signing their children up for this program should visit the main offices of West Glades School, Moore Haven Elementary, Pemayetv Emahakv Charter School, Booker T. Washington Preschool, or Glades West RCMA.

The Glades Education Foundation promotes learning and enrichment opportunities for Glades County students and teachers. Reading to your child from birth helps stimulate language development, vocabulary, early learning and literacy skills. The Glades Education Foundation hopes that by placing more books in the hands of children and their parents, school readiness and literacy development will increase.

About Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library

Since launching in 1995, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has become the preeminent early childhood book gifting program in the world. The flagship program of The Dollywood Foundation has mailed well over 100 million free books in Australia, Canada, The Republic of Ireland, United Kingdom and the United States. The Imagination Library mails more than 1.4 million high-quality, age-appropriate books each month to registered children from birth to age 5.

Parton envisioned creating a lifelong love of reading, inspiring them to dream. The impact of the program has been widely researched and results suggest positive increases in key early childhood literacy metrics.

Penguin Random House is the exclusive publisher for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
