Juanne Howard celebrates 100th birthday

LABELLE -- The Felda Baptist Church hosted a 100th birthday celebration for Juanne Angelique Perviss Howard on Sunday, Jan. 21.

Approximately 120 people attended the service including family members. Family came from Alabama, Georgia, parts of Florida and as far away as Mexico to celebrate with her.

The morning church service began with Pastor Norvel crowning Juanne as the Birthday Queen. She was given a plaque commemorating her 100th birthday. The sermon highlighted several devout, strong women of the bible in her honor.

Following the service everyone was treated to a traditional southern Sunday lunch and a beautiful cake.

Juanne lived the majority of her life in LaBelle with her husband Alonzo and remained married until his death. She moved to Lake City and then to Naples for a short time. She now resides in Alva.

Juanne was born on Jan. 24, 1924, in Bonita Springs, to Jones and Cecilia Perviss.
