GLADES COUNTY – A Georgetown, Kentucky woman was killed July 15, in an early morning crash on State Road 29, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The FHP report states: “Vehicle 1 (a sedan) was traveling south on State Road 29, approaching West State Road 78. Vehicle 2 (a tractor/trailer) was traveling north on State Road 29, north of West State Road 78. Vehicle 1 veered into northbound lane of travel causing the front of vehicle 1 to collide with the front of vehicle 2. Vehicle 1 rotated and came to rest on the west shoulder of State Road 29. Vehicle 2 collided with a guardrail and came to rest on the east shoulder of State Road 29.”

The driver of vehicle 1, a 55-year-old woman from Georgetown, Ky., died at the scene. The driver of vehicle 2, a 28-year-old Avon Park man, had minor injuries.
