LaBelle Gallery kicks off October with ‘Art Adventures'

Posted

LABELLE — In the vibrant world of art, the gallery in our community experienced an eventful September filled with creative energy and community spirit. Eight eager volunteers from St. Matthew’s Justin’s Place generously offered their time and energy to assist gallery members in a monumental task - painting the interior of the LaBelle Gallery. This collaboration not only added a fresh coat of paint to the walls but also symbolized the power of unity in the community. It showcased how individuals and organizations can come together to support the arts and create a welcoming space for all.

But that wasn’t the only exciting event that took place at the gallery in September. The highlight of the month was undoubtedly the exhilarating paint party that brought together artists and enthusiasts alike. Stella Luckey the instructor was accompanied by lively music provided by Jerry Awbrey, a.k.a. Jerri the Trivia Lady, to promote an atmosphere buzzing with creativity.

The theme for the paint party was a cactus scene, and attendees eagerly dipped their brushes into vibrant colors, bringing desert landscapes to life on their canvases. It was an evening filled with laughter, camaraderie, and a shared love for art. Each stroke of the brush was a testament to the diverse expressions of creativity within our community. We are looking to hold the next paint party in November.

The gallery’s dedicated members have started crafting a new classroom space to host art classes, but they can’t do it alone. To make this vision a reality, the gallery is reaching out to the community, seeking sponsors or volunteers who are passionate about nurturing creativity. If you’re interested in supporting the completion of this valuable space, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with a gallery or board member. Your contribution will play a vital role in expanding artistic opportunities within our community.

As we bid farewell to September, we look forward to the continued growth of our artistic community and the exciting events that the gallery has in store for the future. In October, the gallery is embracing the theme of “Abundance.” This theme invites artists and visitors alike to explore the wealth of creativity and inspiration that surrounds us, reminding us to appreciate the abundance of beauty and ideas in our world. To kick off this exhibit we invite the community to stop by the Gallery on October 5 to meet the local artists between 5-6 p.m. Will will serve light h’orderves. Stop by on your way home from work or meet there with some friends.

On Oct. 14, we will kick off our monthly ”Art Adventures” with Pumpkin Painting. This will be geared toward young artists with creative minds! Arrive to the LaBelle Gallery anytime between noon and 3 p.m. on Oct. 14, for a fun-filled pumpkin painting activity tailored for the young at heart. Imaginations can run wild as they transform pumpkins into enchanting works of art. A perfect way to welcome the fall season with creativity and joy! The cost will be $10. A foam pumpkin and painting supplies will be provided.

How about making edible art! Oct. 28 there will be a parent child class on cookie decorating. Participants will be decorating cookies with a Halloween theme.

We hope that all local artists will keep in mind that, in November, we will have a juried show. Any artist can submit 1-2 pieces of art to be judged for prizes.
