Mosquito spraying is scheduled for Sept. 1 - September 4

OKEECHOBEE — Mosquito truck mounted spraying is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 1, through Sunday, Sept. 4. Treatment applications will begin between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Clarke Environmental will be conducting adult mosquito control spraying during the overnight hours in the North and South Western area of Okeechobee County via truck mounted Ultra Low Volume (ULV) sprayer.

“Over 60 road miles will be treated, weather permitting,” said Mitch Smeykal, director Okeechobee County Emergency Management.

Residents are reminded to report high concentrations of mosquitoes to the Clarke Mosquito Hotline at 1-800-203-6485.

Residents can also help by:
• Removing standing water in water bowls, bird baths and plants etc.

• Keep grass cut short.
• Fix screens and keep rain gutters clean.
