Okeechobee County Arrest Report

The following individuals were arrested on felony or driving under the influence (DUI) charges by the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO), the Okeechobee City Police Department (OCPD), the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), the Department of Corrections (DOC) or the Okeechobee Narcotics Task Force (ONTF).

  • Michael Hopkins, 42, Southeast Fourth Street, was arrested Feb. 8 by OCSO Deputy Dylan Abdelquader on an Okeechobee County warrant for charges of contractor accepting payment in excess of $200,000 and not performing work and for writing a bad check. Bond was set at $80,000.
  • Wesley Courson, was arrested Feb. 9 by OCSO Cpl. Michael Cauley and charged with fleeing law enforcement without regard for the safety of others, operating a motorcycle without endorsement, reckless driving with property damage, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $32,500.
  • Cody Maupin, 34, Northeast Eighth Way, was arrested Feb. 10 by ONTF and charged with grand theft. Bond was set at $2,500. He is accused of stealing scrap metal.
  • Charmel Smith, 44, Northeast 11th Court, was arrested Feb. 10 by OCSO Deputy Anthony Medina and charged with two counts aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest and loitering. Bond was set at $6,000.
  • Justin Watson, 35, Northwest 36th Avenue, was arrested Feb. 10 by OCSO Deputy Karson Reno and charged with grand theft. Bond was set at $2,500.
  • Keri Hennon, 32, U.S. 441 Southeast, was arrested Feb. 10 by OCSO Deputy R Mendez and charged with two counts possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and one count introduction of contraband into a detention facility. Bond was set at $12,500.
  • Loren Johnston, 38, Northwest 214th Circle, was arrested Feb. 10 by ONTF and charged with grand theft. Bond was set at $2,500.
  • Ethyn Johnson was arrested Feb. 14 and charged with aggravated battery causing bodily harm or disability, false imprisonment of a child and hindering a witness from communicating with law enforcement. Bond was set at $50,000.
  • Sostenes Ramirez Hernandez, 25, Northeast Ninth Street, was arrested Feb. 11 by OCPD Officer D. Nails and charged with domestic battery by strangulation. Bond was set at $7,500.
  • Jason Smith was arrested Feb. 13 by OCSO Deputy B. Gutty and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, possession of oxycodone, possession of alprazolam, possession of methadone, DUI and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Bond was set at $27,500.
  • Jessie Gonzalez was arrested Feb. 13 by OCSO Deputy Albaro Arana and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $2,650.
  • Eric Allshouse was arrested Feb. 14 by OCSO Cpl. Michael Cauley and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Bond was set at $3,000.
  • David Redding was arrested Feb. 13 by OCSO Deputy Alejandra Rodriguez on an out-of-county warrant.  Bond was set at $5,000.
