PBSC announces partnership with SkillPointe to help more students succeed in skills-based careers

Posted

LAKE WORTH — On Feb. 23, Palm Beach State College announced a partnership with SkillPointe to provide students with a more direct and defined path to a rewarding, skills-based career. SkillPointe.com, a new national platform, empowers job seekers with access to the best training and employment opportunities in key skills-based and trade industries facing critical talent shortages. This partnership helps address the critical need of growing skills-based talent while helping millions of people find more fulfilling futures.

“SkillPointe provides a crucial platform that connects job seekers and job changers with a pathway to a new career,” said Dr. Rufus Glasper, president and CEO of the League for Innovation in the community college. “Given the challenges schools have faced with COVID-19, this new marketing platform will also help schools attract new students as we anticipate more people returning to in-person learning, especially in hands-on workforce development programs. SkillPointe couldn’t have come at a more critical time.”

Palm Beach State College is now active on SkillPointe and available to provide individuals the opportunity to pursue training and job opportunities. Current and future students can also access information on SkillPointe that provides unique financial options and monthly scholarship opportunities.

In addition to training, SkillPointe visitors will find skills-based and trade job listings for more than 350,000 jobs, receive advice from industry experts, and access financial aid and scholarship opportunities. SkillPointe’s “Opportunity Meter” quickly and clearly ranks the best skills-based jobs by their earning potential, current demand, and future job security.

“We joined the SkillPointe platform because it literally checked all the boxes,” said Diego Meeroff, director of College Relations and Marketing at PBSC. “It’s a seamless solution that answers all the questions a prospective student might have about an industry, the highest demand jobs in that industry, the best places to get training, and then, when students are ready, it connects them with actual job openings in their area. SkillPointe has left no stone unturned.”

“Our partnership with Palm Beach State College is crucial to the students of Palm Beach County and beyond, because it provides them with a path and the resources to tap into their passions and embark on a skills-based career,” said James Franchi, SkillPointe CEO. “Employers are facing skills-gap shortages because they cannot find enough people with the specific skills to fill jobs in their industries. These employers offer good, stable job opportunities that pay well and have big needs to fill. SkillPointe celebrates these industries and connects individuals to opportunities that can transform their lives, and we couldn’t do that without Palm Beach State.”
