OKEEHOBEE — The Rotary Club of Okeechobee has received the Rotary Citation Award. The Rotary Citation Award recognizes the hard work clubs do throughout the year. Working to achieve the citation goals helps clubs engage their members, stay relevant in their communities, and run more efficiently. A welcoming and engaging club not only fosters a positive experience for its members, but also reflects the values of Rotary. When clubs achieve citation goals, they contribute to the overall health and culture of Rotary for generations to come. Goals include increasing club membership, developing sustainable service projects, giving to the Rotary Foundation, and building awareness of Rotary in their community.

The Rotary Club of Okeechobee received this award from the President of Rotary International for achieving all their selected goals for 2022-2023. These goals, to name a few, were: supporting and donating to Our Village, recognizing Students of the Month, donating to the Rotary Foundation, supporting our local Hospice by participating in the Festival of Trees, supporting Alzheimer’s through the Walk to End Alzheimer’s 5K, donating to mini grants for Teachers, donating scholarships for graduating seniors, assisting with the High School seniors Graduation Party, co-sponsoring the Halloween Extravaganza, participating with our local library by donating to their book box program, and donating to the National Honor Society back pack program, plus many other projects. We are People of Action!

The donations given are made possible with the support we get from our annual Beast Feast Dinner. We would like to thank our sponsors for their generous support every year.
