WEST PALM BEACH — Beware: There is an impostor calling members of the Palm Beach County community and claiming to be a deputy (Capt. Lawrence Poston) from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. This impostor is advising the recipient of the call that he/she or a member of their family has a warrant for their arrest. The impostor goes on to say that the warrant can be rectified by a dollar amount. The impostor threatens to send a deputy to the residents home to affect an arrest if he/she does not comply.
