Second graders learn about court system

CLEWISTON -- Central Elementary School second graders have been learning about the government and laws through their reading curriculum. Friday, Oct. 20, they hosted a mock trial! Mrs. Mosely was accused of stealing a $249 limited edition Pokémon card from the innocent Ms. Grooms! The jury did in fact find the defendant guilty and she was sentenced to 3 weeks of after school detention! Judge was Ms. Barrineau. Victim was Ms. Grooms. District Attorney was Ms. Dickson. Witness was Ms. Garrett. Defendant was Ms. Mosely. Defense attorney was Ms. Chevalier. The jury was made up of 12 second grade students.
