Semi driver killed on US 27 in Glades County

PALMDALE – An Immokalee man was killed when the semi he was driving collided with another semi on U.S. 27, on April 14 at 11:30 p.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol report.

According to the FHP report, two semis were traveling north on U.S. 17, north of Shady Acres Lane, with one behind the other. The first semi slowed for traffic. The semi behind it did not sufficiently slow, and the front of that semi collided with the rear of the other semi.

A 65-year-old Immokalee man was pronounced dead t the scene. The other semi driver, a 51-year-old Miami man, was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
