NAPLES — STARability Foundation, recognized as one of Southwest Florida’s leading nonprofits supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, has promoted Elisabeth Del Pero to chief development officer.

Del Pero joined STARability in April as the capital campaign director. In this new role, she will oversee all fundraising efforts, partner cultivation and volunteer management, as well as continue to lead STARability’s Capital Campaign efforts.

“Elisabeth has proven to be a valuable asset to our team,” said Karen Govern, CEO of STARability Foundation. “She will continue to play a pivotal part in advancing our mission and programs. I am confident she will excel in this new role and support our exciting growth well into the future.”

Born and raised in Milan, Italy, Del Pero holds a degree in marketing and communications from Sacred Heart Catholic University. She went on to obtain a fundraising certificate from NYU, further enhancing her expertise in the field.

Del Pero’s professional journey is defined by her exceptional work in the nonprofit sector. She spent several years assisting various nonprofit organizations in Europe and New York City, developing and implementing strategies to elevate their fundraising revenue. She then joined Delivering Good, a prominent NYC-based nonprofit with a national and international reach, where she was responsible for increasing their fundraising revenue through strategic special events.

For four decades, STARability Foundation has been shining a light on abilities, not disabilities. Formed by a small community of caring parents, STARability has become one of Southwest Florida’s leading nonprofits. Today, the organization is opening a world of possibilities for hundreds of individuals ages 14 and older by offering a variety of inclusive programs focused on vocational training, continuing education, teamwork, social engagement and community involvement. Their compassionate team supports people with disabilities by providing life-transforming opportunities that emphasize teamwork and a connection to the community while strengthening awareness and respect for individual abilities.
