There is not always fire where there is smoke

Posted

OKEECHOBEE --  Despite the well-known saying, there is not really always fire where there is smoke.  On Saturday, Feb. 12 at approximately 8:30 p.m., Okeechobee County Fire Rescue responded to a call at Jersey Mike's Subs on Southwest Park Street regarding smoke in the building.

According to the report, all occupants were out of the building when  OCFR arrived. Inside, they found light smoke but no flames. Although they inspected all areas of the structure, no source for the smoke was located. The building was ventilated and no further smoke appeared.

On Sunday, Jersey Mike's was open for business as usual.
