Posted

OKEECHOBEE — Last week members of the Okeechobee County Narcotics Task Force, Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) concluded months of investigation into drug sales and distribution within Okeechobee County.

Thirty-four individuals were arrested off of probable cause warrants for the sale of controlled substances. Seven  others are “at large” on similar charges.

Purchased during this undercover operation were crack and powder cocaine, Hydromorphone, Fentanyl, methamphetamine, and synthetic cannabinoids during this operation.

“Although Operation “Bitter Sweet” has ended, we will continue to work with our community, address their concerns, and continue to work diligently keeping Okeechobee a safe place to live, work, and vacation. We thank the Okeechobee community for their continued support and the investigators’ tireless efforts involved with this case from OCSO-NARC, DEA, HSI, and FDLE.” stated Sheriff Noel E. Stephen
