OKEECHOBEE — Sadly, many times in the profession, we deal with recidivism. Regardless of programs and self-help courses provided, sometimes the end is the same, generational arrests, grandfathers, fathers, and sons from the same families.
Sheriff Stephen often says since going into his 36th year as a law enforcement officer here in Okeechobee County, he often sees "grandchildren of those HE arrested years ago and their fathers before them."
Today we want to showcase a great family heritage—three generations of law enforcement officers graced the halls of the Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office while serving our fellow citizens.
We are pleased to show Captain John Rhoden (Ret.), his son, Lt. John Rhoden Jr., and his son, Detention Deputy Recruit Logan Rhoden.
What a great upbringing all of these men have provided. Will there be a fourth?
Time will tell.
Today we thank all the Rhodens for their dedication and service to this community.
