UPDATE: Probable delay to Hurricane Meal Kit Distribution scheduled for June 20

Posted

Update to the Hurricane Meal Distribution that is scheduled for June 20, 2023, at Collier Senior Center-Golden Gate:

The charity just received notification that the truck carrying the shelf-stable/hurricane meals was delayed in Georgia. Since the vehicle is making multiple stops before arriving in Naples, there is a high chance Collier Senior Center may not receive the packages on time to do the distribution tomorrow, June 20, 2023.

Details from the release:

The one-day-only event is part of the Hurricane Meal Distribution Project, a collaboration with the Florida Council on Aging and NextEra Energy Foundation/Florida Power & Light, to provide 102 seniors three days-worth of nourishing meals.

Provided on a first come, first served basis, 102 older adults will receive three cases of non-perishable meals, or three breakfasts, three lunches, three dinners, three milks and six waters total. (Each case contains a breakfast, lunch, dinner plus two waters and one milk).
