Do you know the Seven Wonders of the World? That was the question asked of a class of schoolchildren. One little girl looked as if she was having trouble. So the teacher tried to help her. The little girl finally started to write, and when her teacher read her answer, she asked her to read it aloud to the class. “The Seven Wonders of the World are: to see, to hear, to touch, to taste, to feel, to laugh, and to love. A little girl spoke words that could have come from Jesus Himself. He would surely say, “And a little child shall lead them.”

Jesus knew the importance of sight and hearing. He returned both gifts to many. We learned a valuable lesson during COVID: to touch another person is a precious gift. And isn’t it ironic that the virus also took away the gift of taste? A world without feeling or laughter would indeed be hell. And can you even imagine living without the gift of love?

Take a few minutes today to think about those Seven Wonders of God’s World and how blessed we are to have them. It’s not that the world’s Seven Wonders aren’t awesome and amazing. Indeed, they are! But the Seven Wonders we have received from God can be overlooked because they are so obvious and ordinary. The truth is that they showcase our God in ways that cannot come from human hands. Treasure his supernatural wonders. Never take them for granted.
