The Weekly Clothesline: Look for Jesus everywhere!

Posted

During the season of Easter, I find myself thinking long and hard about the blessing I offer at the end of our Sunday worship service:

May the Lord Jesus, who loves with a wounded heart, be your love forevermore…. He lived a painful life of rejection at almost every turn, yet he came to love and save. Could anyone love more than that?

May the Lord Jesus, who serves with wounded hands, help you serve others…. Jesus’ entire life was a life of servanthood, even to those who wanted to destroy him. He even washed the feet of his disciples…a task done only by servants. Such an act showed us how we are to live with one another: helping and serving.

May the Lord Jesus, who walks on wounded feet, walk with you to the end of the road… Such powerful words! He walks with you and me through every day of our lives.

Look for the face of the Lord Jesus in everyone you meet, and may everyone you meet see the face of the Lord Jesus in you. The old bent-over gentleman behind the cash register, the mailman, the receptionist in the doctor’s office…what do you see…and what do they see?

I find much comfort in those words. They have touched many over the years. I hope and pray they will sustain you when you need them most.

Jesus, love,
