CLEWISTON- The Clewiston High School Tiger varsity baseball team is preparing to host their final home game of the regular season on April 23 at Sugarland Park.

The Tigers are scheduled to face the Cypress Lake Panthers at 6 p.m..

Clewiston opened April with three back-to-back wins over Avon Park, Moore Haven, and LaBelle.

The Tigers hosted the Avon Park Red Devils on April 2 and came away with a 9-2 win. Avon Park was held scoreless by the Clewiston defense until the seventh inning. Gabriel Rangel led the team with three hits and two RBIs. Roldan Milian and Devin Autrey each had two hits against the Red Devils.

Following that game Clewiston hosted the Moore Haven Terriers on April 6, blowing them out 17-0. Nick McDuffie had two hits and three RBIs against the Terriers, while Samuel McDuffie and Adrian Mendoza each had two RBIs.

The three-game win streak concluded with the Tiger offense putting double-digit runs on the board once again, beating the LaBelle Cowboys 16-9.

Samuel McDuffie managed to hit an over-the-fence grandslam against the Cowboys in the top of the second inning. That four-run shot helped the Tigers jump out to a 13-3 lead after just the first two innings. Sam would go on to have a grand total of five RBIs against LaBelle, while Romeo Rodriguez and Roldan Milian each had three hits.

Clewiston will also be honoring their seniors just before the start of the upcoming game against the Panthers. The Tigers take on Cypress Lake starting at 6 p.m. on April 23.
