New bowler brings home title

Posted

OKEECHOBEE — Caleb Gough is Okeechobee County's newest Special Olympics State Champion. He bowled at the Special Olympics State Bowling Championship on Sept. 15 in Orlando at Boardwalk Bowl.

This is Caleb's first year in Special Olympics and his first year bowling. So to bring the gold back to Okeechobee is quite an accomplishment. As you know Okeechobee does not have a bowling alley. So his family and coaches all made great sacrifices by traveling to St Lucie county every week since June to get him the practice he needed to succeed.

Caleb would like to thank his mom Michelle Allison and his coaches Carol Marker and Gail Saum for all they did for him  during this bowling season. And he can't wait for next season.

If you have a family member or friend that would like to compete in Special Olympics please feel free to contact Bernard Marker at 863-801-3393  bmarker6878@gmail.com
