Motorcyclist dies from injuries sustained in April 13 crash

PAHOKEE — On May 5, PBSO reported at 8:11 p.m. Mr. Reyes died from injuries sustained in the April 13 crash at St. Mary’s Medical Center.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) reported at approximately 11:27 a.m. on April 13 a 2021 Ducati motorcycle operated by Thomas Reyes, 27, of Stuart, was driving westbound on South Lake Avenue approaching Padgett Circle, east intersection, in Pahokee.

The motorcycle was approaching a 2012 Dodge Durango operated by Stephanie Jones, 43, of Pahokee, and was attempting to overtake it improperly over a double yellow line.

As the Dodge was turning south onto Padgett Circle, the motorcycle impacted the rear driver corner of the Dodge. The impact pushed the Dodge into a stop sign on the southeast corner of the intersection.

The motorcyclist was ejected from the motorcycle during the impact, and came to a rest on the southwest corner of the intersection, close to the sidewalk.

The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet.
