Brahmans go to 2-1, but Tigers look tough

Posted

Okeechobee Brahmans (2-1)
The Okeechobee Brahmans capitalized on the mistakes of the South Fork Bulldogs on Sept. 25 and came away with a 37-22 win. That final score makes the game appear closer than it actually was as the Bulldogs added two touchdowns late in the game after things were essentially already decided. Up next, the Brahmans travel to face the 0-3 Sebastian River Sharks at 7 p.m. on Oct. 2.

Clewiston Tigers (2-0)
The Clewiston Tigers continue to look like the best team around the lake in 2020 following their dominating 43-0 win over the DeSoto County Bulldogs on Sept. 25. The Tiger defense pitched another shutout against the Bulldogs following their season-opening 53-0 performance over the LaBelle Cowboys on Sept. 11. But the next team coming into Clewiston is also two-for-two on not allowing points this season — the Calvary Christian Academy Eagles. It should be exciting to see which team’s defense can maintain that scoreless streak this week, or whether they can, when the Eagles come to face the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 2.

Glades Day Gators (1-1)
The Glades Day Gators bounced back last week and beat the Berean Christian Bulldogs 27-6. Glades Day’s Hardley Gilmore caught the team’s last touchdown to make it 27-0 in the third quarter. Glades Day freshman Marvin Curry wrapped things up for the Gators when he picked off a Bulldogs pass with less than 20 seconds left in the game. Next the Gators will be on the road to take on the Jupiter Christian Eagles at 7 p.m. Oct. 2.
