OKEECHOBEE — The Daughters of the American Revolution, Okeechobee Chapter, will dedicate a bench to deceased DAR members on Saturday, March 12 at noon. The bench will be placed at Our Village, 200 N.E. Second St., Okeechobee.
The National Society of the DAR was founded in 1890. The current Regent of the Okeechobee DAR is Lonnie Kirsch. The three missions of the DAR are Historic Preservation, Education and Patriotism. For information about the DAR, call Lonnie Kirsch at 863-697-2788.
The bench was made by the Okeechobee High School CTE Building Construction Technologies class taught by Mr. Steve Szentmartoni. OHS seniors Logan Rhoden and Samuel Tagle built the bench. The cost of the bench was only for materials.
