Final deadline nears to add names to Cattle Drive Sculpture Project

Posted

OKEECHOBEE -- Want to add your name or the name of a loved one to the Cattle Drive Sculpture Project in Flagler Park?

Due to high demand, Okeechobee Main Street is ordering the third and final round of bricks for the Cattle Drive Sculpture Entrance. The deadline to order bricks is March 31. The bricks will be installed later this year.

The project is located in the City of Okeechobee at Flagler Park #5. This bronze sculpture project celebrates the cattle heritage of Okeechobee County (1950/1960) and is a unique and total representation of our area.

The OKMS Arts and Culture Alliance’s mission is to connect people to the arts and to each other. We want our art projects to celebrate the uniqueness of our community. This exhibit will not only be a celebration of Okeechobee ranchers but will also be an interactive installation containing historical content within the exhibit.

By donating to this project you are not only contributing to the beautification of the City of Okeechobee but ensuring the legacy of Old Florida traditions and history are etched in time and celebrated by locals and visitors year after year.

You can purchase your brick online at okeechobeearts.org or go in person to Okeechobee Main Street at the Art Center - 111 NE 2nd Street, Okeechobee, FL
