OKEECHOBEE -- On May 29, 2021, at 8 a.m. the Okeechobee American Legion has asked for help placing flags on the veteran's graves laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery for Memorial Day.

Flags to be placed on graves of veterans

OKEECHOBEE -- On May 29, 2021, at 8 a.m. the Okeechobee American Legion has asked for help placing flags on the veteran's graves laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery for Memorial Day. Anyone who would like to help, just show up at 8 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Okeechobee.

The Okeechobee County Government Facebook page has this message for the community, "Memorial Day 2021, our hope would be that each of you spend a few minutes and pause, to appreciate the cost of our freedom, by remembering those that never made it back."
