VERO BEACH — Piper Aircraft, Inc. is accepting applications for its 2021 Apprenticeship Program. The two-year program, presented in cooperation with Indian River State College (IRSC), launched in 2019 in response to the increasing demand for high-quality manufacturing candidates at Piper Aircraft. The second cohort class recently completed their first semester of the program, shadowing skilled aircraft assembly workers and learning all aspects of aircraft fabrication and assembly while taking related IRSC-delivered coursework.
The 2021 apprenticeship cohort begins training in early August at Piper Aircraft’s world headquarters in Vero Beach. Each apprentice is a paid employee of Piper Aircraft and receives a full benefits package. At the end of the training, students take exams to become qualified Journeymen in Aircraft Assembly and are prepared to eventually take on supervisory and management roles at Piper.
Qualifications for participants and the program application can be found on the Piper website at www.piper.com/careers under “Apprenticeship Program”. Questions regarding the program can be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org. The apprenticeship program is registered by the Florida Department of Education Division of Career and Adult Education.
The application deadline is May 28.
