OKEECHOBEE - The Okeechobee County Economic Development Corporation (OCEDC) announced today that their current Business Manager, Kaylee King, has been promoted to the role of president. King is approaching her third year with the Corporation and has been instrumental in advocating for economic development in the community of Okeechobee.
As business manager, King played a critical role in the Corporation’s success, overseeing the implementation of numerous initiatives and projects including Okeechobee Junior Leader Skills Camp, several large business expansions, and two regional EDC marketing campaigns. She has also been instrumental in building relationships with local businesses and community leaders and has been recognized by Treasure Coast Business Magazine as a “Business Leader to Watch” for her dedication to promoting economic growth in Okeechobee County.
In her new role, King will be responsible for leading a cross functional, outreach marketing program for the community’s assets, expanding the Corporation’s programming, and working closely with the Board of Directors to identify and pursue new opportunities for economic development. She will also continue to focus on fostering relationships with local businesses and community leaders and will work to ensure that the OCEDC remains at the forefront of economic development in the region.
