OKEECHOBEE — Okeechobee’s American Legion Post #64 is celebrating the 100th year anniversary since becoming Post #64. They are celebrating all year with various upcoming events. They kicked off the 100th anniversary by hosting the annual Miss American Legion pageant on Friday, Jan. 12. 2024 Miss American Legion is Gracie Hutson. Gracie is determined to uphold the platform of assisting our veterans!.

This year began a new tradition. For the first time ever, there were two added divisions! Jr. Miss is for girls in grades six through eight, and Little Miss for elementary girls, grades three through five. [Photo by Dina Campbell]
