Letter to the Editor: Pray for our country

Posted

II Chronicles 7:14. Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and heal their land.

Our country, this great nation, is in trouble. It’s time that God’s people set themselves in one accord and start praying. It’s time to get down to business with God if we are to remain the home of the brave and the land of the free.

Pray, make petitions to God. Pray for this country. Pray for our leaders. Pray without ceasing until you see God’s mighty hand move in this country, this county, in our lives and our families. If you’re not sure how to pray, incorporate the Lord’s prayer when praying for this nation:

“Our Father which art in heaven hallowed be thy name, thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth and in the USA, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, individually and as a nation, as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, individually and as a nation. For Thine is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever.” Amen

Prayer moves God and God moves mountains. The fervent pray of the righteous avails much.
