OKEECHOBEE –Okeechobee County Library patrons can check out more than books. The public library now offers a “seed library," repurposing an old library card catalog cabinet. Patrons are invited to “check out” seed packets, grow the fruits or vegetables, harvest the bounty and save some of the seeds to return to the library. There is a limit of five seed packets per family. The library display also offers tips on gardening in Florida.
