OKEECHOBEE — Becky Olalde teaches first grade at Okeechobee Christian Academy. For years, she has been taking her students to visit residents of Grand Oaks. The students and residents are penpals as well as real world pals. They visit several times each year, and both children and adults enjoy the visits. This week, the children made calendars for each resident and due to monetary donations from some parents, were able to also gift each resident with a blanket and holiday treats.
