OCPD needs help after break in at Century Link

OKEECHOBEE — On Wednesday, September 20 at approximately 6:30 a.m., a Century Link employee arrived at work and soon discovered the lock to the gate had been cut and was on the ground. The business which is located at 899 NW 6th Street realized that a total of five business trucks and seven trailers were broken into.
 
The Okeechobee Police Department arrived and with the help of The Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office crime scene technicians, spent numerous hours processing the vehicles and trailers for fingerprints and evidence. The estimated value of equipment stolen is currently at $43,000. The crime took place between late Tuesday evening, and early morning Wednesday.
 
This is an ongoing investigation, and the Okeechobee Police Department is requesting the public’s help with any information. Residents that live in the northwest section and have home security cameras, please reach out to Detective A.
