OKEECHOBEE — On May 5, 2023, the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office Uniformed Patrol and members of our Traffic Unit conducted a countywide operation targeting driving or equipment infractions.
During the day, 44 traffic stops were conducted, and three written traffic citations and 35 written traffic warnings for various infractions were issued.
In addition to the thirty-eight (38) total citations, five arrests were made for various charges, including:
- One driver charged with DWLS W/Knowledge
- Three Ccarged for delivery of cocaine
- Three charged for trafficking of fentanyl
- Two charged for possession of methamphetamine
Sheriff Noel E. Stephen explains that traffic enforcement will be a continuous effort in Okeechobee County to address recent traffic concerns.
