OKECHOBEE- Twelve-year-old Chance Shockley was at the right place and right time this February. He ran into a Youtuber, Deer Meat for Dinner, while at a boat ramp with his family.
Deer Meet for Dinner, or Robert Arrington, has over 3 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, which features fishing and hunting content. Chance was a fan of Robert’s and when offered the chance to go crappie fishing on Lake Okeechobee, he jumped at the opportunity.
After stopping in a Fast Break in Okeechobee for some supplies, Robert headed out to fish Indian Prairie Canal. He had planned to bring a random fan with him on the fishing trip, and just happened to run into Chance and his family at the boat ramp.
Once out on the water, it didn’t take long for the duo to start reeling in the fish.
“This is unbelievable,” said Arrington as the fish kept on biting. “I mean, this is fishing. This is Lake Okeechobee. Meeting new friends. Me and Chance will be buddies now.”
The video, uploaded on Feb. 14, has over 100,000 views.
