OKEECHOBEE --  The William H. Boyd Award was presented to Jenna Larson at the Okeechobee Livestock Show Monday night.

The Okeechobee County Fair and the Okeechobee 4-H  & FFA Youth Livestock Show are underway this week at the Okeechobee County Agri-Civic Center, 4601 State Road 710.

Fairgrounds open at 5 p.m. Wednesday-Friday and at noon on Saturday and Sunday. General admission to the fair is $5 per person, per day. Children under age 5 will be admitted free.  Wednesday, March 16 is Canned Food Day. Bring a donation of three or more cans of food and receive up to $3 off fair admission. On Sunday, March 20, fair admission is $2.

Circus Hollywood shows will be at 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, and at 3 p.m., 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The shows are free with fair admission.

Hollywood Racing Pig shows will be at 5:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and at 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The shows are free with fair admission.

Giraffic Menagerie & Petting Zoo will be open daily until 10 p.m. Admission is free with fair admission.
Pirate Man Dan will be strolling throughout the fairgrounds.

On Saturday, the Demolition Derby will be held in the grandstand. Entry is an additional $10. Children age 5 and under will be admitted free.

Helicopter rides will be available during fair hours. Tickets are $20.

The carnival midway rides will be open daily. Advance combo tickets for fair admission and unlimited rides can be purchased through March 20 on the okeechobeecountyfair.com website for $25. Unlimited ride tickets can be purchased at the fairgrounds for $25, in addition to the $5 per person fair entry fee. Individual ride tickets are $1.25 per ticket or $20 for 20 tickets – rides take multiple tickets.

The Okeechobee Youth Livestock Show started Saturday with the Poultry Show. The Rabbit Show was on Sunday. The Dairy Show was Monday, March 14 The Swine Showmanship Show was Tuesday, March 15.

The Swine Show is Wednesday, March 16 at 5 p.m. The Boer Goat Show is Thursday, March 17 at 2 p.m. The Steer Show is Thursday, March 17 at 5 p.m. The Beef Breeding Show is Friday, March 18 at 5 p.m.
The Okeechobee Youth Livestock Sale will be Saturday, March 19 starting at 2 p.m.
