Okeechobee County Road Watch for week of Dec. 30

OKEECHOBEE COUNTY — The following column is the Road Watch report for Okeechobee County for the week beginning Sunday, Dec. 30, provided by the Florida Department of Transportation.

Motorists are reminded to wear safety belts and drive with caution, courtesy, common sense, and patience as they travel through work zones. Remember, speeding fines are doubled in work zones.

SR 70 at SE 10th Avenue: (Driveway permit project) In observance of the holidays, activities are expected to be suspended Sunday, December 24, to Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

SE 28th Street (Charles Harvey Boulevard) from US 441 to SE 18th Terrace: (Construction project) In observance of the holidays, construction activities are expected to be suspended Sunday, December 24, to Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

US 98 from north of NW 80th Avenue to SR 70: (Construction project) In observance of the holidays, construction activities are expected to be suspended Sunday, December 24 to Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

SR 710 from Interceptor Creek to north of SE 67th Way: (Construction project) In observance of the holidays, construction activities are expected to be suspended Sunday, December 24, to Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

Please use caution in the area and watch for workers in the work zones. Anticipated completion is early 2024.
