Rock Solid Christian Academy’s Inaugural Love Run was a success

OKEECHOBEE — Rock Solid Christian (RSCA) Academy’s Inaugural Love Run was a huge success! Our hometown people showed up by the droves to support our school and RSCA cannot express how grateful they are. The Love Run consisted of these three events - the 5k fun run, kids one mile run, and a 50-yard dash for the little ones. There were over 100 participants that entered the 5k race.

Runners took their mark at Rock Solid and went around the school board office all the way down to Center State bank where they provided cold bottled water to all the runners. Looped around the southwest section of town back up to Park Street. Runners ran down the historical Park Street and finished through the archway back at Rock Solid.

As runners finished - Sutton Milk gave out samples of their amazing chocolate milk, and Sublime Juice Garden gave out their famous muscle recovery shots!

A big congratulations to Rock Solid’s top three runners to finish Robert Vargas, Daniel Phillips, and Wyatt Phillips.

Congratulations to all age group winners: Isaiah Phillips, Jersey McCoin, Cole Curtis, Wyatt Phillips, Judson Phillips, Ila Trueblood, Robert Vargas, Daniel Phillips, Gia Pasquarella, Bethany Peters, Jazzy Joiner, Kaylie Yingling, Trenton Garrison, Lora Marte, Kalyn Polvinale, Jess Rickards, Autumn DeCarlo, Kareem Jones, Justin Maynor, Amanda Julian, Jennifer Mangold, Dana Mehrer, Sarah Reno, Mary Kay Digirolamo, Denise Sikorski, Carla Gopher, Tina Cline, Tracy Sills, Rhoda Mohr, Veronica Teele, Steven Carlson, Melisa Jahner, Selina Surles, James Womble and Leanne Sullivan.

The kids one mile run was something to make you proud. Seeing all those smiling faces at the starting line would give anyone overwhelming joy. There were many proud parents cheering at the finish line. Congratulations to the top three finishers Tiyanni Anderson, Peter Bandi, and Aubreigh Bass.

RSCA finished the morning off with the cutest little ones competing in the 50-yard dash! Caleb Phillips was the winner, and all racers received a box of conversational hearts when breaking through the finish line. The kids’ zone was full the entire morning. Kids bouncing in the bounce house, sticking on peel and stick face tattoos, and playing giant yard sized bowling.

RSCA cannot thank our hometown enough! Thank you to - The Tucker Group, Williamson Cattle co, Florida Dairy Farmers, On Point Appliance, Everglades Pediatric Dentistry, Pro Appliance of Okeechobee LLC, Okeechobee Homes and Land, Schoonmaker Electric, The McCoin Family, Classic Asphalt Sealing and Striping, Sublime Juice Garden, Sutton Milk, JBL Industrial, Mitchell Hancock, Kissimmee River Boer Goats, Prescott Services, More 2 Life, and Drawdy Show Pigs. Thank you to Officer Pickering with the Okeechobee City Police Department for protecting our runners!

All in all, everyone had a great day! Next years Love Run will be Saturday, Feb, 12, 2022! Be on the look out for online registration on Rock Solid Christian Academy’s Facebook page and their website rscasoldiers.com.

RSCA, run
