Send photos of damage to county using app

Please note the following:

• The Emergency Operations Center is currently at Activation Level 2: Partial Activation focused on recovery efforts.
• FPL reports approximately 5500 customers waiting on restoration and Glades Electric Cooperative reports approximately 1,000 members waiting on restoration.

·        Waste Management:

o   Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday customers can place items curbside on Friday. Collections will continue through Saturday until caught up.

o   Bulk yard waste collection will resume next week. Residents can take their own household garbage to the landfill at no charge until normal operations resume. 

o   Residents must place hurricane related debris separate from normal household waste curbside. The County’s contracted provider will be collecting hurricane related debris early next week.

·        Damage assessment teams have assessed approximately 50% of the county and will continue into next week.

·        Okeechobee County is asking residents to send in photos of damage on their property (home or business) by going to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/OkeeDamage
