SFWMD temporarily closes S-131 Boat Lock in Lakeport for maintenance

LAKEPORT – The S-131 Boat Lock near Lakeport is temporarily closed effective immediately due to required maintenance and repairs. SFWMD will notify the public when the boat lock is reopened. All other navigational locks maintained by the South Florida Water Management District on Lake Okeechobee remain operational.

SFWMD maintains several boat locks including the S-127 Boat Lock at Buckhead Ridge. Visit SFWMD.gov/Navigation to get the latest information on navigation through SFWMD structures and waterways. Anglers and boaters may also access local waterways from several access points through public boat ramps. Visit FWC’s Boat Ramp Finder at https://atoll.floridamarine.org/ to find one near you.
