Blood Roundup: Thank you Okeechobee

Letter to the Editor

Posted

Once again you showed your love and support for our great community. The Roundup was continuously full of all of you who gave of yourself to help not only those in our town, but also people - anywhere - in need.

Our total numbers in attendance of eligible donors totaled 193. We want to thank all those who wanted to donate, who CAME to donate, but were, for one reason or another, unable to donate. YOU took the time, YOU acknowledged the need and YOU truly gave of yourself.

The total number of units drawn were 248. With the knowledge that every unit has the potential of saving three lives, that means you have helped, at least, 744 people live, who might have died without YOU.

The Roundup will continue “same time, same place, same enthusiasm as you showed this and every year. We’ll be watching for your return on November 16, 17, 2024. We’ll be at the same place, thanks to the city and schools which permit our use of the Freshman Campus Auditorium.

There are just too many businesses, individuals and government staff to list individually, but we offer this public THANKS to you all. The Roundup thanks YOU for donating your time, your efforts, and your actual self in helping all of the family of Okeechobee.

Special thanks go to all of the Blood Roundup volunteers who have spent literally months meeting, planning and providing for this event. Immense gratitude to each of “my volunteers”.

LTE, Blood RoundUp
