Two knives found in backpack at OHS; school addressing incident

OKEECHOBEE- A little after noon on Sept. 21 Okeechobee High School announced on their Facebook page that two knives were found in a backpack on campus.

According to the school, a staff member found an abandoned backpack in the boys restroom. Upon searching the bag the administration found two fixed-blade knives inside.

The school says that at no time were the knives displayed or used in connection with any threat. The knives have been turned over to the school resource officer and the school is addressing the incident as prescribed by the Okeechobee County code of student conduct.
